WSET level 1 Award in Wines - ONLINE

About The Online Course

Learn about wines through a 4 week online study programme that is flexible to work around your existing commitments. The Level 1 Award in Wines Online covers the same syllabus as the classroom course, but through a supported and interactive Online Classroom which allows you to study alongside your peers under the guidance of a dedicated educator. Please note that the exam is completed in person, in Wine Way Center and not online.

You will learn how to taste wine using a systematic approach and be able to identify the main styles of wine. You’ll also learn to apply these to your own food and wine choices.

As you work through the course you will be asked to share your learning experience with the rest of the course group, by sharing your tasting notes. Tasting is an essential part of studying for this course, and you will need to taste a minimum of 6 wines (not provided, but you will be given guidance on the styles to taste).

Successful students will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin.

Online tasting of six wines with educator feedback (students to provide their own samples)

How to describe wine using the WSET Level 1 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine® (SAT)

Do I need any prior knowledge?

No prior knowledge is required.

The course is delivered online and in English therefore basic computer literacy, internet navigation skills and a good level of English are required.

How much does it cost?

9.500 mkd (for Mkd Students) 170 euro (for International Students)

Assessment

Note that the exam is NOT online and takes place at Wine Way School, the date and time of the exam is to be confirmed.

The exam consists of 30 multiple choice questions to be completed in 45 minutes. To pass you must correctly answer 70% of the questions.

Interactive video guided tasting sessions

During the course students have access to video that guide them through an introduction on tasting wine as well as the pricipals of pairing wines with food.

Students are given a list of recommended wines to try and submitt their tasting notes to the online instructor for feedback.

You will work through the online modules under the watchful eye of our expert instructors that are available to answer your questions.

All course materials along with exam fees, frameable certificate and lapel pin (for those that pass the exam) are included in the enrollment fee.
