About The Online Course

Learn about spirits through a 4 week online study programme that is flexible to work around your existing commitments.

The Level 1 Award in Spirits Online covers the same syllabus as the classroom course, but through a supported Online Classroom which allows you to study alongside your peers under the guidance of a dedicated educator.

Please note* that the exam is completed in person, in Wine Way Center and NOT online.

This online course will guide you through the world’s key spirit categories and production methods. The course is designed to introduce spirits in an interactive, structured and concise manner. You will learn how to taste spirits using a systematic approach.

As you work through the course you will be asked to share your learning experience with the rest of the course group, by sharing your tasting notes. Tasting is an essential part of studying for this course, and you will need to taste a minimum of 6 spirits (not provided, but you will be given guidance on the categories to taste).

Successful students will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin.

Do I need any prior knowledge?

No prior knowledge is required. The course is delivered online and in English therefore basic computer literacy, internet navigation skills and a good level of English are required.

How much does it cost?

9.500 mkd (for Mkd Students) 170 euro (for International Students)

Assessment

Note that the exam is not online and takes place at Wine Way School, the date and time of the exam is to be confirmed. The exam consists of 30 multiple choice questions to be completed in 45 minutes. To pass you must correctly answer 70% of the questions.

Guided tasting sessions

Students should be advised to taste a range of spirits during their studies. All the required spirits for the course can be found in the “Recommended Tasting Samples for this Course” section online. Any additional spirits can be found in the Specification. Students can post their tasting notes in the Online Classroom for review by the educator.

All course materials along with exam fees, frame-able certificate and lapel pin (for those that pass the exam) are included in the enrollment fee.
